It is a good idea to trust
human nature more than
humans themselves.

ysg_2

Reminder :

Social Media is eating away
your ability to concentrate.

You can probably no longer sit
at ease for 30 mins straight.

ysg_3

Your sleep pattern is as
random as space noise,

But you wonder why your
health is deteriorating.

ysg_4

Your mind not making you do
what you actually want to do is
the primary reason for your
dissatisfaction.

But you are in search for more
convenient reasons.

ysg_5

Separation of one, which once
felt like an atomic bomb,
Today, feels like a weak tremor
Of a distant earthquake.

Time, makes you forget things.

ysg_6

If one person praises you, it feels good.
If be they ten, a lot better.
If a million, estatic.
If none, 1 do not matter’.

Is this all the purpose there is to life,
To be liked by people?

ysg_7

How better it would’ve been if you whole heartedly
dedicated yourself to that one thing you love most.

There would be no confusion. No regrets. No need for
motivation. No laziness. No mental crisis. No work
pressure. No weekends.

Your energy is being scattered into lifeless beams to
fulfill your myriad of tasks. If there was one chosen task,
you could hit it like a laser beam.

ysg_8

To accomplish an almost
impossible task, you need
to become mad.

Overly rational people
have never achieved
anything great.

ysg_9

Though a cub, you have been living
in the company of sheep. It is all
very cozy and comfortable here.

One day, the herd while grazing
saw a lion,
All ran away but a little friend,
Who is now stuck
in mud and soon will be dead.

All ran away but you, whose blood
does not know fear.
Reaching your friend, you faced
the mighty lion, who smiled, at the
glory of his blood.

The brave are brave.

ysg_10

Look at your office seniors
closely.

Is that how you want to be?
If not, better to stay an
outlier.

ysg_11

Your body is a government accomodation.
Use it while it lasts.

The cosmic government is planning your
next accomodation based on today’s work.

Do not waste too much time in painting the
walls, for god’s sake. It is meant for work,
not decoration.

ysg_12

Foolish idea to study someone else’s ‘notes’.

The very purpose of studying notes, is that when
you read them, you are reminded of the original
study that you did.

The notes which are not yours, maybe the best in
the world, but they are only useful for one who
made them.

Study standard texts, and if you need to remember
the things for a long time, make your own notes.

ysg_13

To make inventions, you need a raw, unbiased,
unconditioned, curious mindset.

The conditioning of formal education makes it
almost impossible to have such a mindset.

Don’t take anything for granted.
Question the very basics until you’re satisfied.

ysg_14

If you could read people’s minds,

You would not have even the few
friends that you have.

ysg_15

Ancients have said,

What appears as joy, is also
misery. But the unwise
cannot see it.

ysg_16

Ancients have said,

One should ponder over such
questions as - ‘Who am ।’ , ‘What is all
this’, ‘From whence this all started’..

Who really knows this, who really is
wise?

ysg_17

In the digital era, there is no
scarcity of resources.

Only need the desire to learn.

ysg_18

Objectivity cannot reach the heights
of subjectivity.

The very human experience, qualia,
richer in scope and detail than
anything we know, is subjective.

An advanced civilization makes every
work a subjective art.

Restricting ourselves to objective
methods, we close the gates of
unlimited wisdom.

ysg_19

Diplomacy is the art of
shunning the personal ego,
and getting things done.

Those too full of
themselves, often term it
‘cowardice’.

But it is not cowardice.

ysg_20

Swarajya is thy birthright
and thou shalt have it.

Sure, begin with your rajya
in your own mind.

ysg_21

Leave all worries, my friend.

You were not born to worry.

ysg_22

Your project is in delay.

It is not that the work itself was so much, but
you kept putting it off for another day. Even
when you decided on a particular day, you
could not start working on it.

All because it is not exactly clear to you how it
is to be done, and you fear the dissatisfaction
and constant struggle you would face if you
work on it.

It is your inability to be comfortable being
uncomfortable that gets your things delayed.

Start being okay in uncomfortable positions.
It will sort out everything.

ysg_23

One thing you’re missing in your
morning routine - abhyanga.

ysg_24

If writing a book is your primary
goal, don’t write a book.

ysg_25

If the majority resorts to enjoying
cheap thrills,

Do you start doing cheap thrills?

In the first place, it was never about
the people, it was about your art.

And the artist must raise the
mundane consciousness of the
people, who, overburdened by their
daily chores, are tired and sad.

The artist ignites the rasa in the
minds of his audience.

ysg_26

The materialists of old have said,

There is but one life, make merry.
Drink ghee, be it on debt.
Once this body is burnt, how can it
come back again !

But the ways
of the modern materialist,
Seem to make it hard to even make merry
in this life,
What to say of lives not known
by direct perception.

ysg_27

Ancients have said,

When in doubt which oil
to use, use sesame oil.

ysg_28

Nothing has gone wrong, my friend.
Nothing is beyond redemption.

Though you may have failed a
thousand times, do not lose hope.

Try again. It is your eternal duty to
follow your ideals.

What are we on Earth for, my friend?
Try again, and be fearless.

ysg_29

What is there to be happy about?

At this very moment, countless beings are
in misery. Some being butchered, some so
hungry to be eating plastic, some crying
while their mother is taken away, some
lonely and rejected because they are of no
use, some taking birth itself to become
food, some injured, some thirsty, some
living in constant fear..

Where is happiness, my dear?
| am not selfish enough to forget about
these fellow beings, and make merry about

my inconsequential life.

The play is sad, my dear.
But still be cheerful, because it is play.

It’s all a play, and you
are an actor. Play your part well.

ysg_30

Ancients have said,

What cannot be found in Mahabharata,
cannot be found elsewhere.

When are you planning your adventure
into the distant past?

ysg_31

How to write good?
Be honest with yourself. Do not pretend.

Your honest introspection is not yours
alone. Human mind is all the same. If it is
truthful, it will ring a bell in everyone’s
mind.

As for technique, it is secondary.
Remember technique got documented
always afterwards a man executed it.

ysg_32

Everyone should have basic knowledge
of the human body.

It is a crime to be living through one all
your life, and not having even
elementary knowledge of how it works.

ysg_33

I feel cleanliness is directly linked to
memory.

Keep your internal, external body clean.
Keep your room, surroundings clean.
Keep your digital storage clean.

If the air is clear, you can see far.

ysg_34

No matter what you preach, as long
as you are a slave to kama and
krodha, there is no peace.

And where there is no peace, can
there be happiness?

ysg_35

Ancients have said,

For a student the following seven are
known handicaps (in the path of his
success),

  1. Laziness
  2. Lust
  3. Inability to concentrate
  4. Gossip
  5. Arrogance
  6. Pride
  7. Greed.

ysg_36

Practice. Practice. Practice.

Practice till you can do it
half asleep.

ysg_37

Even you wouldn’t teach what
you know best to a student
who is not serious.

But you expect Ishwar or
Himalayan siddhas to give you
darshan.

ysg_38

Children are best imitators. Their
grasping ability is raw and enormous.

Your sermons are of no use.
They learn by watching your actions.

What you want them to do, do yourself.
There is no other way to teach them.

ysg_39

Ancients have said,

The unreal has no existence,
And the real never ceases to be.

ysg_40

Where there is no attachment,
there is no fear.

ysg_41

Scroll down, or throw away your phone
and go live under a rock for ten years,

And you would not have missed
anything important.

There is nothing important here.
Do you not understand?

Focus on your lived experience.

ysg_42

The bodily impurities are burnt
by movement (exercise),

The mental impurities
by stillness (concentration).

ysg_43

What causes liberation is virtue,
What causes bondage is sin.

There is no more mystery
regarding this.

ysg_44

When you get what you like and give
away what you do not like, you
become happy.

When you get what you do not like
and give away what you like, you
become sad.

As such, both of these states are
not worth attaining.

ysg_45

Beyond good and evil,
There is dharma.

ysg_46

Learning to read a script takes a
limited amount of time.

And opens up an unlimited new
world to you for indefinite time.

You can read now what otherwise
you could not.

Sounds like a deal.

ysg_47

Dharma, like the Ganga,
is ancient yet new
at every instant.

ysg_48

Poetry, as music the Indians do
The way it should be done ;
Impromptu.

ysg_49

Ancients have said,

The three pillars of health are - diet,
sleep and brahmcharya.

ysg_50

There is no greater relationship
than of a Guru and the disciple.

If all the mountains were to mix
with the oceans to make up an
ink, And Earth be used as paper to
write the glory of Guru, the ink
would be less.

ysg_51

Ancients have said,

One should lift oneself up by one’s own
efforts and should not degrade oneself;
for one’s own self is one’s friend and
one’s own self is one’s enemy.

ysg_52

When you eat,

Think of the food’s journey, right from the seed ina
field, growing as a crop, a plant, a tree, to its
harvest, and its processing, then its cooking, and
to your plate.

Thereafter, as you eat, think of its further journey,
grinding by the teeth, mixing of saliva, passage
down the stomach, release of juices, its digestion,
and assimilation of nutrients, and their further
travel throughout the body.

This habit of awareness will not only improve
digestion, but also knowledge of plants, crops,
farming and the human body.

ysg_53

Ancients have said,

The food offered to Ishwar with
devotion becomes prasada.

This prasada, when had by the
devotee, does not cause bondage.

Whereas those who eat to fill their
stomach alone, suffer karma bondage.

ysg_54

The three gunas of prakrti - sattva,
rajas and tamas drive the world.

It is owing to them that different
people have different tendencies and
interests.

ysg_55

You have mentally agreed that this you can
do, and this you cannot do. This you can
achieve, this you cannot achieve.

Break all these agreements.

A complete rejuvenation is possible of the
body and mind, to make anything possible.

Your will is the most powerful thing that
you can ever possess.

ysg_56

Education is meant to teach us
concentration of the mind.

A flickering mind, like a flame in
the wind, does not have sankalpa
shakti, it cannot make any resolve.

Without resolve, we live our life in
vain, neither achieving anything
nor being content.

ysg_57

What are the ways of the world..

Suffering had when doing a work
meaningful to us, we call tapasya.

Suffering had when doing a work
not meaningful to us, we call
dukha.

ysg_58

Take the hard way, to
make it easier, forever.

ysg_59

Time is a liquid whose
viscosity depends on the
mind’s ekagrata.

ysg_60

Study your subject comprehensively, slowly,
continuously.

You will become a great master one day.
Money, positions, lifestyle are a changing thing.
They are dependent on various things like the

era, the market, people, politics etc.

But your love for your subject is fundamental, it
is not bound by these societal contexts.

Remember the great scholars of past who
devoted their life to exploring this subject.

You are their intellectual heir.
Do a service unto them, and study hard.

ysg_61

Ancients have said,
This Self is unborn, eternal, everlasting
and primeval.

Weapons cannot cut it, fire cannot burn it,
Water cannot wet it, nor can wind dry it.

It is the indestructible substance which
no one has the power to destroy.

ysg_62

Why study history?

If you do not study history, you are
unaware of the past.

If you are unaware of the past, you cannot
judge the present.

If you cannot judge the present, you
cannot take decisions for future.

If you cannot take decisions for future,
you are doomed.

So, study history.

ysg_63

If you’re stuck in a well, make a
plan and climb up.

No one is coming to save you.

ysg_64

Those persons who do cruel acts, and
give suffering to innocent beings,

They undoubtedly suffer for a long time.

Nowadays many people have no faith in
karma siddhanta, so they indulge in such
activities in their madness.

They do not know the ways of karma, and
suffer great consequences.

Always protect the innocents, be kind to
them. All creatures are children of
mother Earth.

ysg_65

Like the end user only knows the
application screen, and not the code
that runs it,

Ordinary beings only know the
outside world, and not the inner
world that runs it.

The inner world is visible to the
wise, Or one becomes wise by
seeing the inner world.

ysg_66

Ancients have said,

Everyone, even a sage, should
give way to a pregnant woman.

ysg_67

The computer cares for truth.

It cares for it so honestly that we,
humans, who are not so honest,
find it absurd at times.

Learning to give instructions to a
computer is learning to be
laboriously truthful.

ysg_68

Constructing a water reservoir, a
pond, a lake has been considered a
work of great punya.

Countless beings quench their thirst
at such a place.

Also, making such water dirty is a
great sin.

ysg_69

Always try your best to use correct
grammar and pronunciation, a faulty
speech is considered a disrespect to
Goddess Saraswati.

One whose speech is free from all
defects, gathers great punya.

ysg_70

The alcohol in liquor causes
dullness of mind,

While the same alcohol in an arista
causes mental strength.

The wise have said, everything
under the Sun is a medicine.

ysg_71

You could easily cure your dry lips by
putting some oil to your navel,

But you would rather not, because there
is no peer-reviewed research based on
evidence through multiple randomized
controlled trials.

God bless the science.

ysg_73

Ancients have said,

Bathing is purifying, aphrodisiac,
life-promoting, destroyer of fatigue,
sweat and dirt, resuscitative and a good
promoter of ojas.

ysg_74

Under the spell of kama, krodha etc., one
does actions which he himself knows
intellectually to be not worth doing.

These internal enemies knock at the gates
of buddhi pretending as friends and
well-wishers, but rob us of peace and
happiness.

ysg_75

You identify with the body, so you are
bound to the body’s dharma,

They identify with the Self, so they are
not bound to anything.

ysg_76

The conscious layer of the mind
is but some waves at the surface
of the ocean.

The rest of the ocean gives no
heed to your morning alarm.

ysg_77

We have heard from our ancestors
that one is born with a decided
number of breaths.

Thus, to live longer, wise elongate
their breath.

Quite a solution.

ysg_78

At one time, mortals breathe only
through one nostril.

Those who breathe through both
equally, are not mortals.

ysg_79

How to destroy your immunity :

Dont go out in the Sun for one
month.

ysg_80

Ancients have said,

Control the mind, the prana is controlled.

Control the prana, the mind is controlled.

Although the latter method is more concrete,
it is much harder to accomplish.

ysg_81

The cosmic rhythm manifests itself as
nature’s vivid patterns,

The more you align, the more it starts
making sense.

ysg_82

Friend, only two persons are free
of hypocrisy.

Either a sage, or a person without

ideals.

With practice and dispassion, this
mind is controlled.

ysg_83

It is not a coincidence that great heros
arrive at the scene of great turmoil.

Remember the great Skandagupta, the
hero becomes a hero in turmoil, not in
peace.

ysg_84

Overburdened with absolving the sins
of countless persons, Mother Ganga
takes a sigh of relief when sages adorn
its heavenly waters.

ysg_85

Thus we have heard from our
ancestors, the land where cows
and their children breathe freely
without a worry, that land is
sacred, and a remover

of diseases.

ysg_86

Friends, this whole controversy
regarding marital rape could be solved
if people had faith in ayurveda.

Coitus with a woman without lust
Is prohibited and described as a cause
of diseases.

ysg_87

Take up the tanpura, my friend.

Music is a loyal companion.

ysg_88

Sangha is your strength in this
age of Kali.

Take refuge in sangha.

ysg_89

Sure unity brings strength, but valour
it does not.

The brave are brave, with or without.

ysg_90

Has been this life
devoted to bhoga,

But now at last
We turn to yoga.

ysg_91

Masters became masters by being
good students.

ysg_92

No, the work is not too much,

You suck.

Organize, categorize, classify.

ysg_93

Growth and decline happen with a
snowball effect.

Which are you addicted to right now?

ysg_94

Growth makes us passionate.
The possibility or potential of growth

makes us addicted to hard work.

What you need for its implementation,
is comprehensive vision and specific
short-term goals.

Start.

ysg_95

Why blame the politician, my friend?
And why praise him too much?

At worst, he is a hurdle.
At best, a facilitator.
The real work is to be done by you and

me, It is our nation.

What are we doing for it?

ysg_96

If you can get the job done
with a face-off, good.

If you can get the job done
with diplomacy, better.

ysg_97

What truly and organically unites the
Indian nation, is the civilizational identity
rooted in dharma Sanatana, which,
becomes its cultural foundation.

Without this, all imagination of unity will
be artificial, imposed, fabricated.

The role of the Indian leader, is to remind
all Indians of this civilizational identity,
and project it to the world.

ysg_98

Democratization of political parties is
necessary for healthy politics.

Those who themselves do not follow
democratic ideals, do they have a moral
right to fight in a democracy.

Charity begins at home.

ysg_99

Friend, do not try to become,

Try to do.

You will eventually become
what you do.

ysg_100

The number one reason stopping you
from success in your endeavours
is indecisiveness.

It is a habit you have formed over
years and governs all your activities.

Reverse the habit, and your life is
changed.

Knowledge is acquired with great
hard work and patience.

Do not be impatient.
Close your eyes, take a deep
breath, and keep working.

ysg_106

As long as there is hope,
there is no defeat.

Hope is the guiding light at
the end of the tunnel.

ysg_107

You are free to dream about
anything.

But you get better only at things
you do daily.

ysg_108

Don’t try to become an artist,
Try to enjoy art.

ysg_109

Note this as universal truth :

One who follows his Guru’s commands
whole heartedly and fully attains
everything worthwhile.

ysg_110

The events in the outer world do
not depend on your emotions.

They will happen with an
impersonal and timely flow.

ysg_111

No ‘event is going to make
you something,

You become what you do daily,
consistently, for a long time.

ysg_112

A place you want to

Is a prison.

ysg_113

  1. Find out what you really want.

  2. Assume you have it.

  3. goto 1.

end, accept it as your life goal.

Note Il : Your imagination capabilities
should be really good to make it work.

ysg_114

Indians who are born in
India, grow up in India,
study in India, and yet
are unaware of its
philosophy, theology,
culture, traditions are
but lost children of this
great Mother.

ysg_115

The entire creation is made such
that senses are attracted to outer
sense objects,

And everyone knows in this there is
no fulfilment,

What then do you boast about your
superior indulgence?

ysg_116

It is beyond doubt that Indian society has been
and still is, mostly patriarchal.

But it is also undeniable that an average
Indian husband is quite afraid of his wife.

Just how these two contradictory realities
exist simultaneously is a case study material.

ysg_117

A mantra told by one’s Guru
is the best mantra.

A mantra not told by one’s
Guru is a series of alphabets.

ysg_118

If you do body building casually, you
may attract some girls.

If you do body building seriously, you
will attract body builders.

ysg_119

How to rejuvenate your lost ideals and
purpose of life..

Hang out with people with opposite or
no ideals until your heart burns, to
bring you back to your lost self.

ysg_120

What is excitement, we
call happiness.

What is happiness, we
do not know.

ysg_121

The mental impression causing sadness
soon manifests as a physical disease in
the body.

The doctors suppress the physical disease
to no avail.

As soon as the mental impression dies in
the mind, the physical disease in the body
also disappears.

ysg_122

If there is a reason for your happiness,
know it to be temporary.

ysg_123

It is only the divine grace of the Guru that
makes a human human, otherwise we all

are mere animals in human form, being a
slave to our instincts.

ysg_124

O Solitude! my old friend.
I missed you much.

ysg_125

The joyful are intoxicated with joy,
The miserable with misery,

The karma yogi alone
Does the work with a composed mind.

ysg_126

More choice does not mean
more freedom.

It usually means more misery.

ysg_127

One who tries to save a relationship
at the cost of self respect, loses
both.

ysg_128

When all else fails, we turn
to Ishwar.

ysg_129

A man has said,

The secret to a happy relationship is two
happy people.

ysg_130

A man has said,

Between the teacher and the taught
the principle of give and take is
only this,

The student can only offer his
devotion and service, and the
teacher can let him have
knowledge and truth.

ysg_131

Bhagavan Shiva has said,

As in innumerable cups full of water,
many reflections of the sun are seen,
but the substance is the same;

Similarly individuals, like cups, are
innumerable, but the vivifying spirit
like the sun is one.

ysg_132

Bhagavan Krsna has said,

Weapons cannot cut it nor can fire burn it;
water cannot wet it nor can wind dry it.

For this soul is incapable of being cut, or
burnt by fire; nor can it be dissolved by
water and is undriable by air as well; This
soul is eternal, all-pervading, immovable,
constant and everlasting.

ysg_133

Ancients have said,

Just like a mother takes care of her baby
by all means, the herb Haritaki takes care
of the body by all means.

ysg_134

Sex, like hunger, is essentially an itch.

While the substance that satisfies the itch
may seem to be a source of happiness, it
remains that the itch never really gets
satisfied.

By its very nature, the itch itself is a
misery, not happiness.

When the itch vanishes, the misery is
gone. This satisfies us, and we
declare :

Itch is the greatest source of happiness in
all the three worlds.

ysg_135

That we find the greatest pleasure in
none other than sleeping,

Is this not enough proof that all the
political, economic, administrative,
legal, medical, educational systems in
the world are flawed.

ysg_136

What learned men call ‘class’
is basically this -

Being highly resourceful, but not showing
it off, instead using just what is required.

ysg_137

What your parents do not like is
your sadness.

What your teacher does not like
is irreverence.

What your friends do not like
is unexpectedness.

What your wife does not like are
many things.

ysg_138

What has happened to people,

If our argument is shown to be
incorrect, we go to the extreme to
somehow defend it even when the truth
is in front of our eyes.

Leave your ego and your argument,
friend. There is nothing worth more
than the truth.

ysg_139

O fellow Indian,

Learn the art of Purva paksha from
the ancestors.

Study the opponent’s argument first
before jumping in to criticize.

Do not criticize for reasons other
than the establishment of truth.

ysg_140

Were we this obsessed with skin
before the advent of cameras?

ysg_141

Fat can still be lost, my friend.

But the accompaniment of a fool is not
considered wise even if it be in the palace
of gods.

ysg_142

To know a scholar, see his thoughts.

To know a saint, see his daily
routine.

ysg_143

A happy person cannot
be ugly.

ysg_144

You can tell whether a particular
character in the QWERTY keyboard is
in North, South, East or West direction,
but you cannot pinpoint exactly where
it is, by telling its neighbours.

ysg_145

The people we meet, the duration we
stay with them, and the relation we
have with them,

15 much determined by our previous
sanskaras with them in previous lives.

ysg_146

All the pleasures of the outer world
fade away like little lights before
the radiant bliss of the Atman,
shining like a thousand Suns put
together.

ysg_147

Love, is like those little leaves that come up
with the onset of spring.

Fresh, energetic, bright, spontaneous,
vulnerable, unexplainable, mysterious,
unpredictable, alive.

॥ seems this heart is destined to count
the dry autumn leaves.

ysg_148

You called me an idol worshipper,
and destroyed the idols.

0 mlieccha,
| also worship the Sun.

Can you cover it up?

ysg_149

Ancients have said,

The sincere practitioner of hatha yoga
either dies, or becomes immortal.

ysg_150

It is a law of nature, that whichever
deva we meditate on, comes forth
and gives his darsana to us.

The only requirement is unflickering
concentration of the mind.

ysg_151

You don’t have two hours to meditate, but
have countless hours to waste due to lack
of penetrating concentration.

ysg_152

It’s okay, friend.

Forgive yourself, and others.
With the morning Sun comes
a new day, a new way, a new

life.

Do the right things now.
Nothing is lost.

ysg_153

Learn as if in a sage’s hermitage
far away from the city and
noise,

Execute as if in a warzone.

ysg_154

Sri Bhagavan said -

How can there be happiness
for one lacking peace of
mind?

ysg_155

If you are explaining your concepts in the
terminology of your opponent, you’ve
already lost the cultural war.

ysg_156

No man ever regretted working hard.

ysg_157

The greatest flex is the absence
of desire to flex.

ysg_158

‘The price of growth is outgrowing
people:

ysg_159

Who am I?

Not this, not this…

ysg_160

My chemistry teacher said,

Strive for proficiency!

Forsake all else, and strive for
proficiency!

ysg_161

Kids are kids, human or
animal.

ysg_162

Love is in your biased
memory.

ysg_163

Solitude is productive only for
the controlled mind.

ysg_164

The day you will read the Gita the way it is
meant to be read, you will be free.

Until then, keep reading.

ysg_165

If you’re not updated with knowledge
in this open-sourced world, there is
none to blame but you.

ysg_166

More so than unity, hindus
require sincerity.

ysg_167

Trying to figure out when exactly
I lost all my social skills..

ysg_168

“Come closer, let me tell you the divine
secret’, said the master, as he whispered
the secret to his disciple.

The student, rather perplexed, at having
told the daily chant as the divine secret,
simply prostrates before the master.

Later that day, the student thinks..
“This is the divine secret?
We’ve been chanting this for years now-’

A voice from the heavens interrupts,
‘Such is the secret, my child.
It is visible to all, but seen by none:

ysg_169

The Indian mindset of this era greatly
values money, but of time, it seems
to have no track or clue.

Time and money go together, my
friend. Ignore one, and you lose both.

ysg_170

Haha..

Be careful what you wish for. What we
want and what is good for us, are two
different things.

ysg_171

“What’s the use of watching random
YouTube videos and podcasts, what do
we gain. If we used all this time to
progress in our career, we would be..’

“If you had overflowing money with no
need to work at all, what would you do?”

“Sit back and enjoy, watch podcasts…”

“The guy was already doing so.. until
you interrupted him with advice..”

ysg_172

There are so many leeches sucking the
blood of mother India, it is no less than
a miracle that this country still stands
fairly well.

We are protected by the Gods, there is
no other explanation.

ysg_173

The more control you have over your
prana Sakti, the stronger you are.

ysg_174

When trying to learn and understand a
religion, a culture, a people,

Do so with an open heart, like a curious
child free from prejudice.

ysg_175

What made the British such great
imperialists was their keen desire to
explore, find, learn, study and
document the entire world.

It is clear from the Oriental Literature
how nerdy they were with regards to
documenting the people, their
language, their culture.

ysg_176

The day this mind will truly be sober, you would
see no more posts here.

ysg_177

Counting doesn’t lie!

ysg_178

With their heart burning with the
intense longing to see Sri Krsna, all
the good and bad karmas of the gopis
got burnt away.

ysg_179

Yayati enjoys all the pleasures of the senses ‘for
a thousand years’ and, by experiencing passion
to the full, comes to realise its utter futility,
saying:

“Know this for certain, not all the food, wealth
and women of the world can appease the lust of a
single man of uncontrolled senses. Craving for
sense-pleasures is not removed but aggravated
by indulgence even as ghee poured into fire
increases it.

One who aspires to peace and happiness should
instantly renounce craving and seek instead that
which neither grows old, nor ceases - no matter

how old the body may become.’

ysg_180

In reality, there is no such thing
as failure.

Everything is a success.
As the cause, so the effect.

ysg_181

Marriage is not mere a legal or social
affair, it is one of the sanskaras
ordained by the scriptures.

The householder must always remain
active and practice dharma, for the rest
of the three ashramas depend on him.

ysg_182

The “7 (or 4) janmo ka saath” theory
seems questionable.

If you pledge for 7 next births in this birth,
you would also pledge the same in the
next birth, and so on it goes indefinitely.

ysg_183

Life is a cycle pushed with force
by the planets, but the handle
is in your own hands.

Steer well.

ysg_184

It is a wonder that we do not
wonder about life.

A sane man would be lost in
great wonder at how and what all
this is.

But we, the clever ones, are busy
doing routine work.

ysg_185

Ancients have said,

Time and space both are artificial
constructs superimposed on our real
nature, which is not bound by them.

The Atman is beyond time and space.
All our doubts regarding it fall apart
because the doubts arise due to our
assumption of time and space.

ysg_186

Ancients have said,

Two birds, inseparable companions,
perch on the same tree,
one eats the fruit, the other looks on.

ysg_187

The six pramanas(proofs) are :

  • pratyaksa (perception)

  • anumana (inference)

  • upamana (comparison and analogy)

  • arthapatti (postulation, derivation from
    circumstances)

  • anupalabdhi (non-perception, negative/
    cognitive proof)

  • Sabda (word or testimony)

ysg_188

Step by step, we will
climb the Meru.

:)

ysg_189

Losing hope is the real defeat.

ysg_190

Just as hunger doesn’t require any
proof or logic to be Known; one
knows it from within,

Love too is felt within.
When you’re in love, you’ll know.

ysg_191

Restraint has meaning only for one
who has strength.

The weak are not eligible for restraint.

ysg_192

‘Pleasures were not consumed,
only we got ‘consumed’,

Penances could not be done, only
we were ‘done’,

Time did not pass, only we
got ‘passed’,

Desire did not grow old,
Only we got old.’

ysg_193

When one finds his daily work
devoid of meaning, he falls to
petty pleasures.

ysg_194

There can be no real learning unless one
is genuinely interested in the subject.

Trying to learn some subject for achieving
a different motive, is bound to produce
mediocrity.

ysg_195

Ancients have said,

The knowledge lost in this world
goes to Aditya.

Time and again, the pure hearted
sages worship him and bring
back the lost knowledge to
propagate it again.

ysg_196

Friend, how long will you fool
yourself?

Take a break, sit down.
Come to terms with yourself.

ysg_197

If something is rare in this entire
existence, it is the company of siddhas.

Bhoga is prevalent everywhere, in
different forms, in myriad of ways.

Yoga is rare. By great punyas over many
many births, one finds the company of
siddhas. And then, his victory is assured.

ysg_198

The primary cause in liberation
is siddha kripa.

Rest all is a preparation for this.

ysg_199

The brahmin is born to gather and
propagate knowledge, for the benefit
of all mankind.

This is his prescribed duty, and also
his natural svabhava.

Free from greed, jealousy, attachment,
he must fulfill his dharma, living a life
of penance and restraint.

ysg_200

The shishya may forget the Guru, but
the Guru never leaves his shishya.

Because unlike the shishya, Gurudev
has Suddha sankalpa. His sankalpas
do not break or go unfructified.

ysg_201

This samsara(@aR) is asara(Star),

Without a conclusion, transitory,
unreal.

ysg_202

If beauty lies in the face, why do you
want to run away from the dead body
of a beautiful person.

Where is beauty without the inner
being?

ysg_203

Staring at the moon reminds one of
his position in the solar system,

Racing around the Sun on this big
ball like place. What for? How come?

Suddenly our daily concerns seem
petty and redundant.

ysg_204

Instead of destroying habits,

Try to create habits.

ysg_205

Lord Hanuman and Kamadeva cannot
stay in the same heart.

ysg_206

Money is a facilitator in worldly
matters. Neither abundance of it nor
lack of it can provide peace.

Peace is not to be found outside.
And inner world cannot be accessed
with money.

ysg_207

Just like the mother’s household work,
though having great value, goes mostly
unrecognised,

The Indian household knowledge of herbs
and spices, their effect on doshas, their use
in diseases, their usage in variety of dishes
according to seasons, the comprehensive
use of all parts of the plant - roots, stems,
leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds etc.,

Though having firm scientific basis in
Ayurvedic theory, and having great practical
value, goes unrecognised or is taken for
granted.

ysg_208

India, that is Bharat cannot be compared with
former British colonies as a ‘third world’ or
‘developing’ country,

Nor can it be evaluated based on its recent
past of colonization or subjugation,

India is a sacred land, having the most
suitable geography for a civilization,
continuously inhabited by its children since
times immemorial.

India, and Indians, are ancient, having the
most evolved civilization, reaching the
zenith in religion, philosophy, culture, art,
architecture, theoretical and applied
sciences, literature etc.,

Short term tides do not decide the identity
and value of an ancient civilization.

ysg_209

If there is a place the Hindus
around the world can call ‘home’,
it is India.

The Indian state has the moral
responsibility to protect Hindus
around the world.

The Indian Constitution must
recognise India as the original
homeland of the hindus, the
followers of Vedic dharma since
times immemorial.

ysg_210

It is generosity of the Hindus to compare
and term religions like Islam or
Christianity as ‘dharma’,

Whereas these sects or cults do not fulfill
even a basic definition of dharma.

Their metaphysics is self contradictory,
their concepts illogical, their ways of
proof/pramana unsound,

It is mostly due to the dark times of
human intellect, that such cults are
showing dominance throughout the world.

ysg_211

If there is a Yamaraja(@aers) in the
world, it will not be different for a
Hindu or a Christian,

So either Hindus are right in
cremating the dead, or Christians
are right in burying it.

Both cannot be right.

ysg_212

To study the Vedas, one must study
the 6 vedangas,

  • Siksa (phonetics, pronunciation)

  • chandas (prosody, meter)

  • vyakarana (grammar, linguistics)

  • nirukta (etymology)

  • kalpa (ritual instruction)

  • jyotisa (astronomy, astrology)

ysg_213

“Oh nobody gets my name correctly…”

“That’s because you’ve written it in Latin
script, which is not phonetic.

Go use an Indian script or a standard
transliteration scheme like IAST-”

ysg_215

Ancients have said,

Of music, shruti (melody, pitch) is
the mother, and
Laya (rhythm) the father.

ysg_216

The 64 kalas or arts mentioned in the
Kamasutra of Vatsyayana, to be
studied particularly by young women,
is a fine way to have an all round
personal development, both in
intellectual sphere, as well as
practical skills.

ysg_217

Of aphrodisiacs, there is none greater
than a woman.

ysg_218

Our breath is the bridge between the gross and
the subtle, between the visible and the invisible,
between the body and the mind.

Carefully treading on the bridge, one reaches
the other side.

rnatraya - the three debts

  • debt to the devas
    Repaid by doing yajnias

  • debt to the pitras

  • debt to the rsis
    Repaid by doing svadhyaya

The fraud vedantin went to a
sweet shop.

Tasting 18 different sweets,
when asked for money, said
“Whence cometh the sugar,
whence cometh the ghee, who
really eats? Who is the enjoyer?”

The shop owner, bringing out a
stick to beat him, says - “The
same one who will now enjoy the
beating”.

Vedanta went for a toss.

ysg_224

Disappointment is better than confusing
disappointment, for it is final, whereas the
latter, not only gives disappointment of
failure, but even of not understanding the
whole thing.

ysg_225

First things first.

ysg_226

Data is more important than the
system, and it will outlive it.

ysg_227

Happiness comes from peace,

Peace comes from steadiness,
Steadiness comes from concentration,
Concentration comes from practice,
Practice comes from faith.

There is no happiness for the unfaithful.

ysg_229

Accomplishment is only half the job
done in the corporate world,

The other half is presenting it.

ysg_230

Do one thing, and do it
well.

ysg_231

If you know what you’re talking about,
you can do without public speaking
‘skills’.

ysg_232

Man is discomforted by others
because he is discomforted by
himself.

ysg_233

If you want the task automated,
make the developer do it
manually.

Frustrated, he will automate it.

ysg_234

If you don’t know why
the system failed, you
should be worried.

If you don’t know why
the system works, you
should be worried.

ysg_235

You are in her DMs..

I am not.
I am studying macroeconomics, btw.

We are not the sa..

ysg_236

What is yours, cannot be
you.

The observed objects are
not the subject.

ysg_237

Where exactly does the finger end,
and the hand starts; it is one
continuous body. Mere
abstractions!

Where exactly does one being
ends, and another starts; it is one
consciousness. Mere
abstractions!

ysg_238

‘Where do you see yourself
in 5 years?’

I see great darkness.

ysg_239

Gau Rakshakas and Gau
Bhakshakas can never be
friends.

ysg_240

Deceit is still bearable,
but not cringe.

ysg_241

The senses engrossed in the outer
world become a cause of bondage,

But the same senses dwelling on
the inner world open up doors of
liberation.

ysg_242

Bad to have a partner with
contrasting ideals,

Worse to have one with no
ideals at all.

ysg_243

The web of maya is more complex
than our mind,

The sharp intellect can see through
the web, but cannot free itself and
come out.

Coming out requires practice and
renunciation.

ysg_244

It is not that women are particularly
interesting,

Nor do men go to them for being
interesting.

ysg_245

You can use all sorts of
strategies, plans, techniques,
tools, tricks etc.,

Or you can use the will.

ysg_246

Two ways to learn :

  • Implicit (by acquisition)

  • Explicit (by studying)

Both require different approaches
and produce different results.

ysg_247

One musician plays the raga so
well, you cannot take your eyes off
him for even a second.

One musician plays the raga so
well, you forget who is playing and
what instrument is playing.

ysg_248

The moral and intellectual decline of
Indians began when they stopped
being in the company of sages.

Now, even with all the resources, they
remain artificial. They are not Indian,
and they fail to be Western.

Thus, nowadays, an artificial pop
culture is constructed to hide this
inner emptiness and lack of
self-identity.

Moral, philosophical, intellectual,
aesthetical, cultural decline!

ysg_249

If you open the heart, it becomes
vulnerable. The soft petals need
a soft touch, or they fall.

If you keep it closed, it dries up
like a rose in the bushes who no
one ever saw.

ysg_250

The ride of prana is the ride
of a lion.

If done properly, nothing better.
If not, get ready to die.

Pranayama is no child’s play!

ysg_251

Do, or die.

ysg_252

First learn the technique,
Then master it,
And then forget it.

Now, the art will become
self expression.

ysg_253

The highest happiness demands
total renunciation.

Losing everything and getting
everything are close friends.

ysg_254

Those who love gossiping, love
it so much that if they be
shown all the three worlds and
told all the mysteries of the
universe, they would still not
be satisfied until they finish
gossiping about it.

ysg_255

Swami Vivekananda has said,

The character of any man is but the
aggregate of his tendencies, the sum
total of the bent of his mind.

ysg_256

You may lose some battles, but
win the war!

ysg_257

At our lowest, we figure all that
does not matter.

ysg_258

Everyone is busy in ‘how to do’.

Is there anyone thinking ‘what to do’?

ysg_259

You have the map to
cross the maze,

But it will not carry you
out by itself.

ysg_260

Sri Bhagavan has said,

For, as the blazing fire reduces the fuel to
ashes, Arjuna, even so the fire of
Knowledge turns all actions to ashes. In
this world there is no purifier as great as
Knowledge.

ysg_261

Studying the ancient texts our rsis wrote,

It feels like our own ancestors have come
alive to teach us the long lost knowledge in
this age,

Listening to them patiently like a curious
child, one goes back in time,

In a hermitage, a stream flowing half a mile
downhill, cows grazing on medicinal herbs,
and sutra by sutra, the knowledge is
imparted by Gurudev.

Thousands of years have passed, but we still
sit curiously and listen to the rsis,

We are indeed their own children!

ysg_262

Focus on your Self, and
focus on yourself.

ysg_263

Which disease is the worst of all?

The one you get.

ysg_264

If temporal pleasure is all there is,
No amount can ever satisfy us.

ysg_265

If love is in the air, we
live underwater.

ysg_266

The heavens and the hells are either too
full or too devoid of pain, so the desire
for liberation does not occur,

Only in this human birth, seeing the
true nature of impermanence, the
fortunate have their hearts burning with
the desire for liberation.

ysg_267

The Guru who doesn’t
want to remember his
Guru, is no Guru.

The self proclaimed
frauds may have a cult
following, but it doesn’t
stand the test of time.

Never has.

ysg_268

Sage Uddalaka instructed his son
Svetaketu :

“Food, when eaten, becomes divided into
three parts. That which is its coarsest
constituent becomes the feces; that
which is medium, the flesh; that which is
finest, the mind.

Water, when drunk, become divided into
three parts. That which is its coarsest
constituent, becomes the urine; that
which is medium, the blood; that which is
finest, the breath (prana).

Tejas (oil, ghee, etc.) when eaten,
becomes divided into three parts. That
which is its coarsest constituent,
becomes bone; that which is medium, the
marrow; that which is finest, the voice.”

ysg_269

The Earth has greatest
divisions, the water
lesser so,

The fire even less, the
air lesser still, and the
empty space no one
claims.

How do you think then,
the consciousness,
which is subtler than all
these, is yours and
mine.

ysg_270

Even though the world is so wide and
diverse, and what all has been in the past
who really knows,

Still, it is such a small place.

Kings, regions, people, culture, wars,
food, music, saints, and
Connections! Between all these.

It feels like we’ve lived through every age,
in every place. And maybe so, in previous
lives.

The only thing worthwhile in all of this
endless web, is Yoga vidya.

ysg_271

Did you miss me, folks?

We realise the value of someone
when they are not there, and we
see them in the context of the rest
of the world.

ysg_272

My friend, if you’re going to talk to me, then
either talk of yourself, or about me, or about
people not personally known, or about
national news, or abstract ideas.

But do not gossip about people around us.
First, | couldn’t care less about them.

Second, it makes the mind dull and unfit
for concentration.

ysg_273

Either you have to do it, or you do not.
Be clear.

Doubt, is the greatest enemy of the
intellect.

ysg_274

Clean and dry clothes are
essential for health.

Dirty or damp clothes make
us sick.

ysg_275

The day is not far away when it will
be impossible to tell Al generated
images from the real ones.

Just like ghee had to become ‘shuddh
desi ghee’ after fakery became
common, real content will struggle
against Al content.

ysg_276

O the days of yore, when
we felt butterflies in the
stomach,

Now only toads croak here
asking for food.

ysg_277

Nothing is actually too complex.

The complex part is always a small
portion in a much bigger thing.

The crux, is called crux for a reason.

ysg_278

Was the effort of acquiring medical knowledge
less that now people also need to look like a
model to promote their clinics/centers on
social media.

ysg_279

Although for a person like yourself
who craves comprehensive
knowledge, knowing all the ragas in
the world, prevalent or otherwise,
seems logical,

But if you think deeply, what
purpose does it serve?

Know one raga well.

And sing it with purity.

Let the notes break into your heart.
Let them truly emerge from within.

And you would have done a better
service to music, than those who
know everything and yet know
nothing.

ysg_280

The State has you all covered
in the myriad of rules you
cannot help but break,

It pardons you at will, and
punishes you at will.

ysg_281

Inconsistent + Small < Inconsistent + Big
< Consistent + Small << Consistent + Big

ysg_282

Remember, remember this first of
December, what flew down now
goes upstream.

ysg_283

| remember once | was in the car going
somewhere early morning. Saw a small calf
ahead standing by the road all alone.
Suddenly | felt really bad for him, and went
through in the head all possible scenarios of
his struggles. And then strongly felt why
Lord Krishna doesn’t come down in countless
forms to protect these innocent ones. He can
take as many forms, then why not come
protect each of these innocents personally.
Or else who in the world will come and
protect these orphans.

This all happened within a few seconds. And
suddenly, a cow, his mother appeared from
behind some cars. That calf was totally
protected and cared for by his mother.

And O my..

Suddenly the answer stood before me for the
earlier question. The Lord indeed has taken
the form of the mother. It was a great
revelation, and experience.

ysg_284

Outsource your happiness, and
be ready for disappointment.

ysg_285

If the skin were transparent, you
would see all the complicated and
ugly stuff inside.

It is a miracle how this human body,
so full of undesirable components, is
the biggest source of attraction for
all mankind.

ysg_286

Observing and understanding the
complexity of nature, the atheist is
convinced of the absence of God,
the theist is convinced of the
presence of God.

ysg_287

If you have great sadness,
observe your breath.

Atleast as long as you just
observe your breath and do
nothing else, there will be no
sadness.

If you observe your breath for x
minutes in a day, you will have
to suffer x minutes less from
your great sadness.

ysg_288

There are many technical ways prescribed by
saints to defeat lust,

  • Seeing the person’s beauty as the
manifestation of the beauty of the Lord.

  • Seeing the person as the expansion of your
    own limitless consciousness.

  • Seeing the person’s body with anatomical
eyes. The skeleton, organs, blood, waste etc.
    no longer appear attractive now.

  • Seeing the woman as the manifestation of
the divine mother, of whom we all are
    children.

These are just one set of mental techniques.
Rest, some other day.

Mr. Bruce Lee has said,

There is no weapon more deadly
than the will.

ysg_290

Sri Bhagavan has said,

He alone, who is able to withstand, in this
very life before casting off this body, the
urges of lust and anger, is a Yogi, and he
alone is a happy man.

ysg_291

What people are today calling psychology, is not
the study of the psyche, it is the study of the
consequences or effects of the psyche.

The study of the psyche itself, is spirituality.

ysg_292

Tathagata has said,

Two things only, my disciples, do | teach -
misery and the cessation of misery.

Human existence is full of misery and pain.
Our immediate duty, therefore, is to get rid
of this misery and pain. If instead we
bother about barren metaphysical
speculations, we behave like that foolish
man whose heart is pierced by a poisonous
arrow and who, instead of taking it out
whiles away his time on idle speculation
about the origin, the size, the metal, the
maker and the shooter of the arrow.

ysg_293

In art, conviction is more important
than being technically correct.

The reason being, it originates in the
heart, and is received by the heart.

Organic encoding cannot be matched
by intentional, mental encoding of
information.

ysg_294

| do not need any of these certifications.
If | say | know it, then | know it.

And who really knows in and out?

ysg_295

‘Lo! The number 11 hit it for a 6!

‘What even?! What odds!’

ysg_296

Newly weds like to put their signs in the
room, like things to be put on a table
saying ‘X & Y’ or decoration on the wall
with both of their names,

So that, some other persons do not
come and claim their room as their own.

Maybe I’m wrong with the reason. What
else? Love?!

Srivisnu said:

“Now, dear son, create duly nether worlds, earth, rivers, seas
and forests in the Cosmic Sphere. The following too should be
created: trees, mountains, bipeds, animals, birds, Gandharvas,
Siddhas, Yaksas, Raksasas, beasts of prey and all those living
beings of eight million and four hundred thousand species.
They are to be of four different types, each consisting of two
million and one hundred thousand species.

They are:

(1) Udbhijjas (species of vegetation that grow breaking up the
surface of the earth);

(2) Svedajas (sweat-born ones such as insects, worms etc.);
(3) Jarayujas (viviparous beings) and

(4) Andajas (oviparous beings).

You create all these things quickly:’

After saying this, he vanished. The Cosmic Egg was created by
Brahma in the manner as instructed.

The great Miyan Tansen came in his
dream, and said - Practice!

ysg_299

Guru kripa works in ways such that
if you lack sraddha, it will appear as
coincidence.

ysg_300

Everything worthwhile attaining is
available in this very moment.

It is not in the future.
Or somewhere far.

Infact, there is no future.

ysg_301

That other people who you do not find inspiring
have already done it, makes you lose all
motivation to do it.

It makes the whole activity uninteresting and
a burden.

Motivation for hard work comes
when either

  • Itis an untrodden path

  • Only people you value have done it

  • You like the activity for its very sake, not for
    its consequences

ysg_302

One does not lose hope facing
failure,

One loses it amidst uncertainty
and indecisiveness.

ysg_303

There are many ways to avoid
being dead inside,

Counting your calories is not
one of them.

ysg_304

Don’t worry, it’s not just that
you don’t like anybody,

Nobody likes you as well.

ysg_305

It’s good that God did not give us
all the happiness,

We would have settled for much
less.

ysg_306

“No’, said Master Musashi,

“The woman cannot be a best friend.
She can be a friend, or a lover, but not
a best friend. And those who think
otherwise are not men.’

ysg_307

One way to become is to pretend you have
become, and act accordingly.

Another way to become is to imagine a constant
companion of your master or deity, and you ‘will!
have to act accordingly.

Yet another way to become is to leave the desire to
become completely, and just have the desire to do.

And yet another way to..

Keep in mind though, nobody (except the master)
is concerned with your practice, all they care
is whether you have become.

ysg_308

Once in a while you see the stories
of people you have blocked, and
god knows why but not a single
time do you feel regret.

Good judgement or adamant
people?

ysg_309

You, O darling, are like the mild winter
sunlight, penetrating through the fog
and through my cold dark life.

And just like that sunlight, you are
mostly useless.

Neither giving light nor giving
warmth.

ysg_310

Some people have willingly taken up
difficult social tasks, to automate and
make them easy non-social tasks.

And their business is running well,
mostly off of the anti-socials.

ysg_311

If beauty does indeed provide
happiness, it is your own beauty,
not your partner’s.

That without yours will probably
provide jealousy and insecurity.

ysg_312

The first secret to beauty is gene,

The second is the internal
cleanliness of the body,

The third is oil.

ysg_313

Take it easy, friends.

Do it slowly, do it properly.
That’s the way to do.

ysg_314

“Then, doctor’, said Tau Hiralal,

“Let it be death. But ghee | will
not shun”.

ysg_315

Ancients have said, and rightly
said,

Do not bestow knowledge on
the undeserving.

ysg_316

It was a mistake to mind map the country
with districts,

Cities! And roads connecting them!

Cities are old. They stand the test of time.
Districts = Administrative convenience.

The measure of man is by his Sakti, not by
his money, status, body or intellect.

The Sakti is gained by restraint and
concentration, and it physically manifests
as contentment and cheerfulness.

The eyes tell the story of all of one’s
achivements.

ysg_321

Get off your asses, sloths!

Everything is possible.

ysg_322

‘Re-planning is part of the plan:

ysg_323

There is a ‘real world’ we share commonly. We
interact with the real world with our senses of
sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing.

There is a mental world our mind is capable of
‘generating’, as per our wishes. The problem is,
this generated world is first of all a little vague,
and not available to the 5 outer physical senses.

Computers will fill this gap.
They will generate a world for us that our mind
desires, and that our senses can interact with.

The sense interaction part may take some time,
as it needs two revolutionary inventions. But
computers will generate the virtual world as per
our desires within this decade.

ysg_324

For a deeper relationship, find
things to do together.

Things that require individual
thought, but collective effort to
arrive at a conclusion.

These things go in the mind as
memory with an imprint of you
being together.

Assuming you do ‘n’ number of
such activities,

The absolute state of

Scientific research, unless confidencial, should
be freely available to every person on Earth.

ysg_327

The fire of displeasure hurts not so much
as the fire of disappointment.

ysg_328

The unresolved mental conflicts are
a source of social anxiety.

ysg_329

Exercise isn’t important, until it
suddenly is.

ysg_330

The urge to get recognised
is the chief time-waster.

ysg_331

No amount is enough,
And no amount is too less.

We’ll do our best happily.

ysg_332

The Indian way is to internalize things
by subjective experience.

And then, it flows spontaneously.

And that is how it should be, and that
is what is beneficial.

ysg_333

Every second, or if there is a smaller unit
to measure time,

A living being dies. Its body no longer
moves, it no longer takes a breath.

The world is a live cemetery. That’s what
it is. What’s all the celebration about?

ysg_334

What you see is spontaneous art,

What you don’t see is meticulous,
repetitive, boring, algorithmic
practice behind it.

If you love the art, you will do
everything it takes to give justice
to it.

ysg_335

Forgive, forgive all wrongdoings
unto you.

People suffer so much of their own
actions and inactions, false
identifications and attachments,

What purpose to hold long grudges
for? Let the heart be cheerful again,
forgive, forgive all today.

ysg_336

Happiness is a special dish that
doesn’t require any ingredients or
cooking.

Like a cucumber seed inside the
Earth, it is already present. When
you patiently water it, it grows
automatically.

It doesn’t demand any additional
effort, just open the eyes and see
for yourself.

ysg_337

If it be an addiction, be it
an addiction to growth.

ysg_338

It’s not that you don’t want to work, it’s
that you want to work a lot more.

And that you cannot do without
irrational passion.

And passion doesn’t arise until you find
the work inherently meaningful.

ysg_339

Nothing is more valuable than

The golden cage is still a cage.

ysg_340

The only way to

taking refuge in the

ysg_341

Moksa Sastra is a moksa Sastra when
read with the purpose of Self
realisation, otherwise the Sastrajala
is no less a bondage itself.

The lofty scriptures are not meant for
dry philosophical debates, which by the
way, are so numerous and sophisticated,
that one lifetime is barely enough to
know all of it.

May we study just one Sastra and attain
moksa, than carry the load of a
thousand scriptures to be just called

a pandita.

ysg_342

As little cubs, O friend, we roam
in the grassfields.

A pack of hyenas is somewhere
here.

Stay close, we will survive this.

ysg_343

If you do not have an ‘atyant utsaahi’
friend who supports all your close to
impossible goals, count me in.

We don’t want any pessimist, dull,

unresourceful ‘friend’,

You tell me you want to move a

Your code is your disciple,

ysg_346

It is the boring middle journey
that decides the result.

ysg_347

We are convinced of things, and we try
to follow them, but we imagine there is
an opposite reality somewhere, and we
secretly desire it,

It is when we give up even these secret
desires that we truly change.

ysg_348

If you are looking for someone to
complete you, we have some bad
news.

ysg_349

Hahaha. You’ll have to be pretty shameless
in making resolutions, friend.

Seeing your absolute miserable state, God
will get tired of you and make it a success
just to get it off his list forever.

Bad habits win because they are shameless
in returning, they don’t think so much of
honor and integrity.

You need shameless good habits.

ysg_356

O mind, uninvited, you are dwindled
by earthly mistresses of
questionable beauty, what chance
do you stand against incitements
by celestial nymphs,

If indeed you get established in the
inner being, know it to be through
Guru’s grace alone (and not by your
own efforts).

ysg_357

A beautiful and intelligent woman on
being complimented said,

I try to upgrade my knowledge every
day. And same with beauty, as
beauty is hard work too.

ysg_358

Don’t give excuses, man.

Say | failed, and try again.

ysg_359

Of course it’s hard.

If it were that easy, everybody
would do it.

It’s hard, no doubt.
But will you do it or not, that is
the question.

ysg_360

We do not have any goal,
friends.

The day we have a goal, we
will succeed.

ysg_361

O routine, my most resourceful friend,
how have | betrayed you !

And so, facing the misery.

ysg_362

What man is he who burns with
jealousy. And struggles to see
other’s prosperity.

We may have a hundred flaws but
thank God not jealousy.

ysg_363

Some people are so attractive, and
then they open their mouth.

ysg_364

My dear brother, having wealth means having
things of value. Conferring the eternal mantra,
his very life force, the Guru has given us the
most valuable thing in all the three worlds.

What more wealth do you seek, my brother.
Rejoice! Rejoice!

ysg_365

The modern scientist does not have an
empirical evidence of his own mind,
but rejects God for the lack of
empirical evidence.

this today.

ysg_368

If you have long and dirty nails, ill fitting

messy digital storage, irregular bowels,
fear of the future, lack of self worth,
inability to listen keenly,

You probably have bad memory too.

ysg_369

Raga, much like meditation, cannot be
taught.

It is only kindled within, by someone who
has it within himself.

ysg_370

Each day a marathon, and a month
becomes an year.

ysg_371

Ah, the freedom,
Being the servant of the Lord.

Kings, nay, even Indra deva does not
have a taste of this freedom.

One is miserable only as long as he
works for himself, for one who has
dedicated all his actions to the Lord,
there is no misery.

ysg_372

Without a healthy body, there is
neither bhoga nor yoga; only
roga.

ysg_373

The second half of the 20s is largely
the age of reluctant acceptance.

ysg_374

What is particularly admirable about the
computer science community is the open
source culture, and their willingness to
share knowledge and help others.

We should support the organizations that
help further this. Those who are adamant in
trying to confine knowledge will be dead as
tech progresses.

ysg_375

There is a voice inside your head
that only you can hear with your
inner Srotrendriya.

ysg_376

Based on the solid foundation of Indian
metaphysics, passed down to us from
the gods through sages and scholars,
the divine knowledge of life, called
Ayurveda, may redeem us of this
‘modern life.

ysg_377

As long as science learns from nature, it is all good.
It is the unnatural phenomenon that causes trouble.

When trying to go against nature, man creates
isolated, artificial substances and uses it on natural
environments, and this causes trouble.

Simply because nature is not binary, it is

multi- dimensional. And man can only comprehend
this multi-dimentionality in his subjective
experience, not in his mind.

ysg_378

It is better to be a fool than a cunning
person.

There is nothing to be gained from
cunningness, rather it destroys our
ability to integrate our thoughts,
speech and action.

There is no use for such a life, where
all we do is try gaining an edge over
our own friends.

ysg_379

Honesty brings conviction,
Conviction brings intensity,

Intensity moves the audience.

ysg_380

Our mind is optimized to avoid
discomfort.

It will postpone the difficult task,
asking you to cover rest of the
tasks first.

While the seemingly difficult task
is what really is the crux of the
whole matter. That being done
would mean everything done.

So, jump straight into it.

ysg_381

Swearing at a woman or hitting her is
something only lowlifes would do. It is
quite unacceptable.

Having an argument is okay, proving
her wrong is also okay. But if it comes
down to swearing or hitting, simply
move away.

If it is life or death, better to kill her (in
self defence). But swearing or hitting
is unacceptable.

ysg_382

Evenings start troubling the man who has
something to accomplish,

How fast the day is over !

ysg_383

When was the last time that somebody
asked somebody how they are to actually
know how they are.

ysg_384

Man is at his bravest when protecting
the innocent.

ysg_385

Our friends of old have outgrown us, or
we have outgrown them.

While still a sapling, we did not know what
fruits we would bear.

But an apple was always an apple, an
orange an orange.

ysg_386

Seeing the success and failures
of the world, more and more we
turn to our Lord.

ysg_387

Love must have room to accommodate
your lows, for you will not be at your
best all the time.

ysg_388

For one who has been in the
company of saints, common
men seem intoxicated.

ysg_389

The fire of penance starts with
quantitative measurement.

ysg_390

When you’re winning, you win
at everything. And vice-versa.

Therefore, even little things
matter.

ysg_391

Our body is telling us what it
needs, only if we had the ear
to hear.

ysg_392

How long will you be a historian,
be the history.

ysg_393

By naming their daughter some word that has
no meaning in any tongue, the parents initiated
the first blunder of their daughter’s life.

If she had a good meaningful name, even if her
whole life were a blunder, one would say atleast
her name is a source of joy. But no.

ysg_394

With nistha and sraddha, there is no
scope of misery, and success is really
only a matter of time.

ysg_395

If you cannot get the grapes, friend,
do not say they are sour.

The grapes are sweet. Make a plan
to get them.

ysg_396

Everyone except the saints will judge
you on your body, that is how the
human mind works.

The saints know something deeper
than the body, so they care less for
the outer covering.

ysg_397

If you hurt a saint, and he calls you out,
or warns you, or reciprocates, consider it
your good fortune,

For if he suffers silently, the reciprocal
action will be from his Lord.

And then there will be trouble.

ysg_398

Sadhana does not come about sleeping
all day, friend.

You will need to work hard.

ysg_399

If one does hatha yoga kriyas, he either
really praises them and says there is
nothing better, or really abuses them
saying there is nothing worse,

There is no in-between.

ysg_400

Time has told, time is
telling, time will tell.

ysg_401

Ancients have said,
The greatest service unto oneself is
self enlightenment.

And the greatest service unto others is
also self enlightenment.

ysg_402

The fruit of all the sins is only this -
That the mental torch cannot light up
one object without getting foggy or
distracted.

ysg_403

Of the myriad of emotions, the
Sadhaka must have only two -
Shanta and Gambhira.

ysg_404

Man can either take total refuge in his ideals/idols,
and though he would have to miss out on things,
eventually he will be the happiest he can be - the
man of great achievements, the higher man.

Or he can constantly switch between his ideals and
his whims, living a somewhat contradictory life, but
more importantly a considerably less efficient life
due to lack of consistency and sincerity - the misery
of wasted potential, the medium man.

Or he can essentially give up his ideals, by either
accepting it as fate, or totally giving in to his whims,
or being so involved as to not having time to think at
all, or totally losing his earlier ability to think deeply,
or becoming a rebel due to lack of achievement, or
becoming externally influenced to change his ideals,
or committing some hindrance impossible to undo -
the undeserving fool, the lower man.

ysg_405

No matter the type of product or service,

The logic for setting up a sponsored

It should be seductive.

Raga music is meant to be learned
subjectively. Therefore, the best way to
learn it is to listen to a great master.

Learning the raga music objectively is
difficult, nay, impossible. Sure, if you look
at each part, it is all objective. But is the
whole merely the sum of all parts?

Some things are better not done ina
mechanical way, because doing them
mechanically is almost impossible.

Computer Science people, therefore, have
figured out a human-like way of learning,
through neural nets.

ysg_408

The more the science advances to
know the human mind, the more it
becomes clear that the ultimate
science and technology combined
is the spiritual science.

ysg_409

If one had to choose between knowing how the
rejuvenation works and being rejuvenated,
what would he choose?

Knowing a thing, and ‘knowing’ a thing, are two
different things.

ysg_410

The world is changing every century,
nay, every decade, nay, even more
swiftly day by day.

Yet when we read the books a
millennia old, we find the same
humans like you and I.

ysg_411

All the dehati guys in school turned
out to be religious and nationalist,

And all the sophisticated
mushrooms, barring few, turned
out to be self-hating communists.

ysg_412

Metaphysics is the final
word. Hahaha.

The philosopher will write on
anything and still make
sense, because ultimately
everything comes down to
metaphysics.

ysg_413

Necessity is the mother of
invention Implies necessity
determines how much a thing is
required Implies if less
necessity, a poorer thing is
acceptable.

This is why and how inefficient
teams exist in large corporations.

ysg_414

Art needs to be such that even if
your enemy sees it, at first he goes
‘Wah, kya baat hai.:

If that doesn’t happen, either your
art is no good, or your enemy is no
lover of art.

ysg_415

As far as grammar is concerned,

What is a musical sound?

In a one of a kind definition, Sri Abhinavagupta
says the musical sound is that which draws
away to itself the minds of listeners from the
non-musical, usual sound.

The man who seriously desires
happiness will at once renounce
all his worldly desires.

More the effort, more the fruits.

ysg_421

The real test of intelligence
is जितेन्द्रियता, the victory
over the senses.

ysg_425

If making money is what all the studying
was about, why did they not teach us
about money itself?

The people who make big money first of
all accept that they are in it for money.

Secondly, they target the money directly,
unlike people who will work all their life
for money but never think about money.

Third, they do not fear money. The other
people do not want to think about money
because they fear it. And the fear is
primarily because money is a necessity
and you do not know it.

ysg_426

Being in romantic love is a great
intoxication, no doubt.

But an intoxication, nevertheless.

ysg_427

One who cannot digest his powers
do not deserve them,

His poor subjects suffer his vomiting.
The worthy always appear as if the

powers are not assigned to them, but
naturally belong to them.

ysg_428

Time is valid as long as
there is change.

Where there is no
change, what of time?

ysg_429

The object of worship depends on the
state of the worshipper.

By seeing a man offering water to the
Sun, what can you conclude?

Is he worshipping physical inert matter, a
ball of fire?

15 he worshipping its ruling deity, the
Surya deva?

15 he worshipping the hiranyagarbha, the
cosmic soul?

15 he worshipping Ishvara, the ruler of all?
Is he worshipping brahman, the
unqualified pure existence?

ysg_431

The greatest leverage is one’s
belief in oneself.

ysg_432

The mind remembers every emotion we
have. The worries run as unfinished
background tasks.

The body, which is so intricately connected
to the mind that it is hard to figure the
differentiating line, is the ground where the
effects of all these tasks can be seen.

The body-mind complex is an unbelievable
engineering work, unsurpassed by all means.

Crooked men, unlike the wise, do not see
your inherent worth. You have to prove it
to them.

The world is no wise either. Hence, the
need for proof.

ysg_435

A cave?
What else is your room?

Sleep or work, that is the real
question.

ysg_436

Fuck all techniques.

Hatha is the only solution
for this bastard.

ysg_437

You want to learn something. And you’re
burning with passion.

But remember, these things we learn are
not lifeless. They are very much alive ina
sense. So, if you do not lovingly approach
it, care for it, respect it, how will it love
you back?

No learning without love.

ysg_438

Time moves in cycles, but each
cycle is new.

ysg_439

Marriage is the peak attempt to
curb loneliness.

ysg_440

Folk is often better than classical because
while the men doing folk are doing it with
all their heart, the classical man has not
crossed the river of technical complexity
to worry about the heart.

And without the heart, it is all powerless.

ysg_441

They measure your worth in
invalid units.

ysg_442

It seems the greatest good unto a woman
is to not take her seriously.

ysg_443

You do not like me, and |
quite despise you.

How great it has been
going for us.

Two even and two odd is
even. One even one odd
is odd.

ysg_444

Methinks others are too
fighting their internal
battles.

ysg_445

Physical limits are of course much
farther away than our mental
conventional limits.

ysg_446

All glory is of perfected action.

And technically, action is perfected
with repetition.

ysg_447

Life is wasted trying to impress
people.

Beg them all to be impressed for
once, then you will at least figure
the point of all this.

ysg_448

The craving for sense enjoyment is really
only a misdirected search.

The search is deep and genuine, but our
presumptions drive us to muddy waters.

If you are really serious about enjoyment,
then take up the exploration of the
mahabhitas directly.

But stop this blind man’s game for God’s
sake.

ysg_449

At least God has given us the ability to
imagine to our choice.

A considerable relief indeed.

ysg_450

All our misery is of our thinking that we are
in a disadvantaged position.

And maybe we are, or maybe not. But this
is where it all stems from.

ysg_451

Let us accept the lemons life has
given us.

ysg_452

Today we must forgive and ask
forgiveness from all.

Today we must shun ego, jealousy,
pride, greed and anger.

Today we must thank the entire Cosmos
for providing everything to us without
showing a single sign of debt and favor.

For todays are not endless. In this
momentary existence, it is our profound
blunder to not feel grateful. To not love
our fellow beings.

Today we must accept all our vices, and
pledge to overcome them.

ysg_453

The permutations and
combinations are infinite.

But only a subset of that is useful
or meaningful.

Totally unbounded, we are lost
into the chaotic ocean where
jewels are seldom found.

While if we accept the limitations
of the subset, we are left with
only the jewels, which are still
infinite.

ysg_454

You have a million thoughts, and so
you have a million thoughts.

I have only one thought, and so
I have infinite.

ysg_455

Do men become great only when
others call them great?

ysg_456

Sadness cannot touch the man who
does not betray himself.

ysg_457

The greatest fruit of astrology is the
profound sense of wonder at the
interconnectedness of all things, and
thus devotion and curiosity for the
Supreme Being.

ysg_458

What is productive work?

This is a very serious question.
One should ponder over this
deeply.

ysg_459

Should the transitory emotions, a product of
a few chemicals in the brain, be allowed to
steer the course of this precious life?

ysg_460

Ancients have said,

There is no strength like
the strength of yoga.

ysg_461

Men and women are different, hence
the attraction.

The society that tries to reduce this
difference will bring about the death
of romance.

ysg_462

‘Honey, the honeymoon
is over.

ysg_463

Aversion is not the opposite
of addiction.

As such, both of these are
unhealthy states of being.

ysg_464

The lunatic looks up at the moon,

‘Why have you done this to me?’

ysg_465

Take a sigh of relief.

There is nothing to be attained here. Nothing to
be gained. Nothing to accomplish. No thing can
satisfy us. No quantity is enough.

There is no responsibility. No obligation. No one
to decide what is better or worse.

In the middle of the ocean, does it matter if one
has a bigger bottle than the other? Anyways,
you cannot drink of it.

ysg_466

The natural is governed by science,
the science you know.

The supernatural too is governed by
science, a science you do not know.

What is science? An order.
Everything follows order.

ysg_467

The only difference between man
and animal, is choice.

Hence, man becomes greater than
the animal, and also stoops lower
than the animal.

ysg_468

The world is a moving train. It is ready
to show you a lot of things, but will
never let you take a close look at
anything.

Trying to take a close look is the
beginning of the greatest rebellion.

ysg_469

Everything is permissible, but
losing hope.

Accepting defeat is acceptable,
but not losing hope.

Losing hope is mental suicide.

ysg_470

Why did God create unequal men?

Apparently, he wanted some
entertainment.

If everyone were equal in all respects,
the world would be a dull place.

Nay, it is the difference which creates
the world. The world itself is difference.
The non difference is God.

ysg_471

A developed बुद्धि produces विज्ञान,
A developed हृदय produces काव्य,

And usually men have only one.

ysg_472

It is quite impossible that a mathematician and
a poet be born at the same instant.

And before you come up with examples, know
that a mathematics degree does not make one
a mathematician, and fitting words in meter
makes not one a poet.

ysg_473

O young fellow, you have
travelled far away from
your city home, to serene
mountain lands where
the peaceful stream
flows with crystal clear
waters,

If you still need alcohol,
what must you need in
the city?

ysg_474

It’s a fact without exception, the rich girl,
however fat or ugly she may be, will make
herself presentable by the time of her
marriage.

The poor need a considerable gene
advantage to beat the rich at beauty.

ysg_475

If you had all the money in the world,
and all the time, and no obligation, what
would you do?

The answer to this question reveals our
intrinsic qualities.

The brahmin psyche will raise curiosity
and desire for knowledge. What could
be better than knowledge?

The shudra will want to serve the world.
What could be better than service?

ysg_476

Music, at best, could take one
to the doorstep of God.

But to get inside, the music
must stop.

ysg_477

Music could have been the perfect spiritual
practice, but it engulfs you.

If you could be in it, and out of it, at the
same time, the task was done.

God loves the middle path, beyond both
extremes.

ysg_478

Usually people think a resolve in their head
has no effect on the outside world.

But the reality is quite the opposite. Every
resolve in the head has an effect outside.

It is because our resolve is weaker, that its
weak tremors are barely felt.

If you produce an earthquake in the mind,
the mountains outside will shake.

ysg_479

You cannot know the taste of a
mango without eating it,

No description will suffice.

ysg_480

What am | seeing, my Lord,

Humans becoming machines, and
machines becoming human.

ysg_481

The king and the beggar are not so
much in how much they have, but
how much they want.

ysg_482

With a great following comes
great delusion.

Remember, a mirage will not
quench anyone’s thirst.

Leave the mirage, draw your
own water.

ysg_483

Aman should strive to become a
man; a woman, a woman.

What do you want? An advice that
is good, or an advice that sounds
good?

ysg_484

Do we know anything in nature that is
not cyclical?

We may not know the cycle for some,
but then certainly it is not possible to
prove that something is not cyclical.

So, in that case, doesn’t it make sense
for your metaphysics and history and
music to be cyclical?

Whence cometh the linear imposition!

ysg_485

A woman singing Raga Marwa,
taking a long phrase, and
immediately smiling at her
accompanist, indicating how well
she sang that phrase.

Sorry, dear. You are just a vocal
gymnast. Leave music to musicians.

And then one wonders why isn’t the
audience moved? Are you moved?

ysg_486

Unfortunately, you can’t have it
both ways.

This, or that, not this and that.
This and that, is not this nor that.

ysg_487

‘Marriages are made in heaven.’

Perhaps that is why they’re struggling
on Earth.

ysg_488

When youre yet to be ‘settled’, you’re
constantly busy to see the void.

As you approach towards being ‘settled’, you
will see the apparent vacuum and
uncertainty of what ought to be done in life.

Your response will be finding distraction to
keep yourself busy again.

Now you know why you end up buying
unnecessary things. Avoiding the void.

ysg_489

People have made it so common to say
things they don’t mean, and to talk things
they don’t know.

It’s primarily a corporate disease, but has
spread to all places.

Now, once in a while when we actually
come across a man who talks real, he
appears a genius.

ysg_490

It seems the physical pleasure received
from sex is only a small part of why we
desire it.

The real reason seems to be being liked.
And how will you be liked? By giving
happiness.

It is primarily a desire to own, to possess.
And why this desire? Because what you
own is yours. You become bigger. It is a
desire for expansion of self.

It is the same desire that wants us to be
liked by everyone. In the sexual desire,
this desire combines with the physical
instinct, especially because the intimate
act strengthens our belief of possession.

ysg_491

Mathematics is a story.

One is not simply interested in true
mathematical statements, unless
they help elongate the story.

The theorems are the characters in
this story. One father, one aunt, one
uncle, one cousin..

One is not simply interested in any
random character unless they help us
know an existing one better.

ysg_492

Can there be a prize for a discovery?

The discovery is the prize!

ysg_493

The ability to win over someone with your
strength, intellect, logic, and resourcefulness is
still limited, because however good they may be,
there would be better ones in the world.

But with a smile and a compliment, there is no
limit to who you can win over.

Love is more powerful than a fight, because the
strengths are added, not subtracted.

ysg_494

We really waste our lives trying to reach a
destination.

First of all, it is a mirage. You will never
be able to concretely describe the
destination. It’s foggy.

Second, it is really only a way to avoid the
present suffering. An imagined escape.

Third, for the sake of this imagination we
destroy the present.

The answer? Acknowledge your present
suffering and try deconstructing it.

ysg_495

You want to save the religion.

You don’t know the religion.

You don’t particularly even observe the religion.
You aren’t even interested in the religion.

You are only interested in saving the religion.

What could go wrong?

ysg_496

Do women really like these shiny,
pricey, boxy leather bags?

I’m no fashion enthusiast, but the
thing is outright ugly.

Why not something softer,
intricate, fibrous, light colored?

ysg_497

If you somehow beat the sexual
desire, the next addiction will be
of food.

This shows the outward nature
of the indriyas.

ysg_498

Instead of trying to become a King,
first of all start living like one.

Nature adapts as per requirement.

ysg_499

Man is quite happy when he’s doing
what he thinks he ought to be doing.

The guilt stems from inaction more
than any of our actions.

ysg_500

God has given us enough time in a
day to complete all our tasks
without hurry.

The man has given us social media.

ysg_501

Be immersed in the joy of
building things.

ysg_502

Being in the present moment,

Brings integrity, it integrates the
being. It settles the waters and
brings the scattered beams into one
concentrated light.

This is the highest duty.

ysg_503

Truth is second to none. It stands on its
own.

It does not require an agency to base
itself on, or to derive its existence from.

What exists, is truth. What is not truth
does not exist.

We all are attracted towards truth. All
beauty is a glimpse of truth.

ysg_504

There is no answer to
any why.

You just have to keep
asking why.

ysg_505

The body will move however you
make it move,

The mind will think whatever you
make it think,

Are you not the one controlling
these both?

ysg_506

Being realistic is rational,

But it is not worth living
such a life.

In hope we live, in hope
we die.

ysg_507

The most brilliant side effect of the
Al race will be the renewed study of
the human mind.

What is memory, what is learning,
whence the free will, who makes the
decisions, what is the reward we are
looking for..

What makes a human different from
a computer?

ysg_508

All the nations want world peace.

Though some want more pieces
than the others.

ysg_509

Ancients have said,

The earthly beings who worship
the Sun do not fall ill.

ysg_510

The only fault of man is
that he desires.

ysg_511

We think of right or wrong actions
as pinpoints on the time scale,

But they actually evolve or take
form over time.

ysg_512

There is no sorrow in the whole world,
And there is no joy too.

Whatever is there, it’s within you.

ysg_513

What is born, will die.

What is not born, will not die.

ysg_514

Being insightful and sad is certainly better
than being ignorant and happy,

Because life is not a one time
phenomenon.

It will happen again, and again, and again..

The insightful has a possibility that he will
find a way out.

ysg_515

The idealistic person invests an
ideal in people,

And when they break that ideal,
he’s hurt.

ysg_516

One who is actually scared of
getting older and dying,

And one who is absolutely not
afraid of this,

Both have my respect.
The ones fooling around and

escaping the question deserve
contempt.

ysg_517

You cannot give anything greater to
an aging woman than a genuine
compliment on her beauty.

ysg_518

It is absolutely possible for you
to become rich, and nobody
getting poorer.

ysg_519

As now we are eager to match nature with
our computer, is it not worthwhile that we
remember how we fabricated the original
continuous signal into discrete bits.

Who will account for that information loss?
It may not matter to you practically, but the
machine you’re building is fundamentally

inferior to nature.

Is it not?

ysg_520

Porn is free and research papers are
behind a paywall,

The most intelligent creature on Earth.

ysg_521

Is there something that we can get
and not want anything else, ever
again?

ysg_522

Mental agony is difficult not because
the agony is great, but because the
chief weapon to fight the war - the
mind, has become rusted.

ysg_523

In Indian music, where exactly you are in the
time cycle currently is what matters, how
many cycles have passed by till now is of no
consequence.

We must live in the present, and be ‘alive’ for
the ‘present’ moment.

This is the story also of Indian itihasa,

What happened, and where exactly it happened
in the time cycle is what matters, not how
many cycles before it happened.

Therefore, we know the exact calendar day
when Sri Rama came back to Ayodhya, but we
are not bothered about the year.

ysg_524

Best sleep is never planned, it is
accepted.

ysg_525

Life is too short for grudges and too
long for expectations.

ysg_526

Whatever you think you are, if you
can put an adjective to it, you are
not that.

ysg_527

It’s a world of self interest, that’s what it is.
Every man knows the highest good lies in
enlightenment, but no parent wants his
child to become enlightened.

To the noble exceptions, my respects.

ysg_528

The most powerful among us is not the one
with the sharpest weapons,

Nor the one who has fought the biggest battle,

The most powerful is the one who fought
his battles with his broken weapons.

ysg_529

Law of karma exists because there is no
duality. Ultimately, it is the same one being.

You bite your tongue, you get hurt.

You kill a person, you ‘get hurt’ in due
course of time.

What you do unto the world, you really do
unto yourself.

ysg_530

Do we care about enjoying, or
making others think that we
are enjoying?

And are we enjoying, or do we
think we are supposed to be
enjoying?

ysg_531

A non-reader enters the personal
library of a reader,

‘Have you read them all?’

ysg_532

If you are anti-social but love
reading books, are you really
anti-social?

ysg_533

Associative learning is one of the mind’s
greatest strengths but also one of its
greatest weaknesses.

ysg_534

Don’t worry about becoming,
worry about doing.

You’ll become what you do.

ysg_535

For that you were tempted at once is
okay but that you linger on does not
behove you.

You can only drive a man of substance
to temptation, but he will not linger on.

ysg_536

Man feels an internal burning sensation
when he utters a lie.

This is his wealth burning. If he keeps on
uttering lies, he will soon go bankrupt.

ysg_537

The sky is blue, the grass is green, the
little birds are chirping, like always;
why am | brimming up with joy?

ysg_538

A low intellect can hold a cup of
water, the highest intellect, a lake,

But this unassuming heart can fit
the entire oceans.

ysg_539

Back then, there was no fomo
because there was too little.

Hence forth, there will be no fomo
because there will be too much.

ysg_540

An Indian who can touch a book with
his feet and not repent afterwards, is
not an Indian.

ysg_541

Little things matter,

Because they create momentum via
compounding.

And sometimes they matter because
they change the direction of the
existing momentum,

Slight change of angle, a different
destination.

ysg_542

What misery?

We are burdening ourselves with the
weight of our desires.

Leave the desires, where is misery?

ysg_543

Existence itself is enough bliss.

ysg_544

Indians have long forgotten attention to
detail, and this is the cause for almost
all social evils.

Neatness is ‘a remedy for every degree
of evil’.

Investing in human resources is only to
teach the people neatness. Neatness is
directly linked to all social evils.

ysg_545

No race is worth it if the only
prize is that you are ahead
of others.

ysg_546

It’s not about what all you ingest, it’s
about what all you digest.

Be it body, or the brain.

ysg_547

Lose yourself to find
yourself.

ysg_548

All organized celebration is an attempt
to create meaning.

ysg_549

The real knowledge is not
hidden at all,

It is right in front of us, like
an unpolished diamond.

Everybody knows it, and
nobody knows.

ysg_550

In striving to perfect the art
and find order,

We perfect ourselves and
find order.

And that is the purpose.

ysg_551

YogeSvara Sri Krsna has said,

There is nothing for me to attain in
all the three worlds, yet I continue
to work.

ysg_552

In finding the best thing to say, of
all things that can be said,

I found that it is best of all to say
nothing.

ysg_553

The first consequence of gaining real
strength is that you begin to renounce
violence - unto you, and unto others.

In fact, until then, nobody can.
